Bye Bye Mo

Our team (of three gentlemen) raised $2080 for prostate cancer this last month, or at least that's what Peter told me this morning.  I can't log into the prostate cancer web page myself.  I think I'm back to my old wannabe self after the shave, but we'll see if the aerodynamics will have improved for my run tonight.

Progress Overview

I made a little info graphic to show the progress I've been making in my 5ks.  My hope is that I can alter the trend that happened over this long summer and drastically increase my speed in a moderate way.  Similar to last years increase over the same time period and season (from my birthday to the Santa Suit Run).

My coach has my training pace in this last period as 5:57 min/k (9:31 min/mi).  Does that mean I should be able to do a 29:45?  Simply phone it in?  Running is hard.  I thought it would start getting easier, but it hasn't.  One thing I have noticed in myself is that when I want to bite off that big-ass goal, I have a lot more courage and consistency than when I start doubting myself.

I think I'm going to spend the next 9 days, before this 5k, on visualizing that 28:59 and preparing myself for the wave of doubt I get once those muscles begin to ache.  Did I say that?  I mean once those muscles begin to feel alive and burn with awesome power and DRIVING FORCE!

Have a good one today runners!  As always I'm still a wannabe! :)

Andrew, I've been away for personal reasons for quite some time. I have to say you look like the running has really taken off since I dropped out. Also, you look great. Keep it up!!!

Good job on the fund raising!

Your face looks thinner..probably just the hair loss. how is the weight loss going?

Dud, If you are training at 9:30 you can so get under 29:45.

And yah, running is hard but lugging around a huge, out of shape pile of smelly avrdp wears you down too.

Huh. You look pretty Tom Sellick-ish in the moustache picture. That's a good thing.

First off, Great Job on the fund raising. That chart kicks butt man. Love it. Best wishes on the 5k coming up you will excel! Take care and keep on running. If it got easier would you keep doing it?

Should we just start calling you Magnum?

Running gets easier? Someone forgot to give me that memo. Every time I lace up my shoes and head out the door, it hurts. That's why I do it!

Visualize, visualize, visualize....

Wow, I like your graph. Great improvement! Although you were concerned about the summer, it was still a downward trend.

Good luck with your goal.

Btw, I recently removed my "soul patch" too. My wife won't let me shave off the moustache though. She says I look funny without it! LOL!!!

Magnum! Yes!
That 28:59 is yours for the taking. So take it already.

Yes, Burlington, Vermont. It is the same race as yours by the same organization. This is our inaugural race. Have you done it before? I can't wait.

Haven't seen a pic of you in a while. You're getting that "mean lean" runner look! Good luck in your 5K goal!

That's some serious progress! Maybe I should start making graphs and charts to track my running. Perhaps those visuals help?

Nice shave!
