Planetary Observations

While I'm waiting for a clear night (BTW we've had snow return to us in a big way this morning - YAY for XT days), here are some pictures of an awesome planet:

Q on the Move is back in the blog world.  I want to be just like him when I grow up.  Go checkout his awesome blog.

Yesterday's Interval Run

Split Distance Target Avg Pace Avg HR Max HR
2 1200M 9:58 9:53 137 142
4 1200M 9:55 142 151
6 800M 9:37 9:35 144 149
8 800M 9:44 148 152
10 300M 8:56 9:21 143 154
12 300M 9:01 143 155

I still haven't memorized the speed I need to run to be sub-30 mins. on my next 5k! I'm going to run KM-Splits on my watch and run sub 6:00 splits - that's all I can tell you. I've been changing the splits based on the race length. 5ks and 10ks get KM-Splits while 5Ms, 8Ms, etc. get Mile-Splits.  (Split number 10 was around two corners, and I didn't realize there is so much deceleration when you make a turn.  I have to think about this for race time.)

Beautiful video. Your running is progressing nicely.
I'm an O positive. What do you wanna make of it?

Use the virtual nemeses (I mean trainer) on your Garmin. Practice it first and remember that he always goes out too slow (lol).

Loved the video. Thanks for a great way to start the day. And as for your intervals, look at the progress you've made! You are rocking it.

Appears you prefer the longer distance intervals, who knew! :)

Cool video. I forgot to tell you one thing in my last email. If your 5k has lots of turns RUN THE TANGENTS. So important. No wide turns aloud.

Gosh, I love this planet.
Thank you for sharing.

Amazing video. I'm a sucker for videos like this. I've got the Blu-Rays for 'Planet Earth', 'Life', etc. and could watch them for hours if I could figure out how to free up some time.

Running numbers look strong. I have to dig out the telemetry strap for my Garmin and see what my ticker is doing during runs. I'm a total data junkie, yet I can't seem to get my act together tracking my heart rate.

Nice. Can't wait for YOUR pictures, too.
You need a Title for this post....
And I think I'll start calling you "Star Runner" :)

Great intervals! I'd never really thought about corners like that. I guess that's why people like to keep a couple of minutes (or seconds) in the bag when they're going for a certain time.
