The Pre-Race Report: Santa Suit 5k
Here's the route and a couple of videos from the last two years of this race.
The route is a little confusing ... from the start we run through the finish, then take a loop out on Lakeshore to make up the length properly, then loop through the downtown, and through the start again to the finish at the end of the street.

I get the part about having to go through finish once...but twice(or is that 3x counting the actual finish) why couldn't they just back up the start a little?

Here's your strategy: run as fast as you can! Go whole hog, full boar, summon the fast swine and hang on as best you can. Oh and try not to catch your beard on anything.

I dunno…it sounds like a complicated race strategy. Can’t you just race it without all of the running technical mumbo-jumbo?

That looks like a blast!! I ran this event a loooong time ago, before the Santa Suits were introduced. It is a nice flat course - I think I sense an upcoming PR!
