Sweat Your Thorns Off 5k

It was a rainy day in Pizzaville ... actually, it was only muggy.  I thought I'd give the kilt a shot today to see how I run in it, but I chickened out and just put it on for the picture.

One thing about this kilt ... as soon as you put it on you want to start drinking beer!

The official Garmin time: 00:30:42

Split
Time
Distance
Avg Pace
Summary00:30:423.1109:51
100:09:341.0009:34
200:09:591.0009:59
300:10:051.0010:05
400:01:020.1109:05

As you can see I tried to do reverse negative splits.  It's a new technique I'm pioneering.  I call it slowing down because I'm tiring.  I did manage to speed up on the end however.  Well, no technique is executed perfectly.  The whole run was populated by dodging cars and people at yard and garage sales.

Yay! The kilt!!!! I wanted video footage of you running in that thing... and maybe even running whilst swilling the beer :P

You might have sped up on account of the thoughts of having that beer :)

Dude, you are The Beast in that kilt. Best pic ever. Nice backyard too by the way. I also enjoyed a fine adult beverage after my "race".

Now, that is a great "Star Runner" pic. I love your bib number--you're "Number One!" ...and the "reverse negative split" explanation/technique made me laugh--thanks! That technique is "old" for me :))).

How is it possible to be horrified and curious at the same time? Boxers? Briefs? Commando?

Reverse negative splits are much easier in a kilt!

"I call it slowing down bc I'm tiring". Lol. I'm stealing your new term which is the story of my running life. Love the kilt...if you do run commando in your Kilt Run, I hope you're liberal with the body glide. That could be some really unfortunate chafing.

Also, look how close you were to 30 min with all the dodging and weaving. Not bad at all considering how long sub-30 was a goal.
